After some tears and hard work (and a little visit to the service)...

Sorry for the last rant. I'm not angry at him anymore. I just don't have the patience to explain to him (or everyone else :P) every single thing I do, that's all.
The good news is, we finally managed to install and configure the damn thing. It works smoothly now :phew:.
I basically screw things up when I messed with the modem instead of the router (both had the same IP address and I plugged them wrong), so yeah, the fault's on me I guess.
Once again, I'm sorry for the drama and the melodrama.

i'm going to ASSUME you are using windows.
you are going to need to log onto the router. probably easiest if you are wired in for this. press ctrl+R, then run CMD. type "ipconfig" and then take the number from the default gateway, and type it into the address bar of an internet browser. assuming this is a new router, the user name is probably going to be "admin" and the password "1234" but you might have to check your manual for this. if it isnt this and it isnt the one thats in the manual, you'll have to press and hold the reset button to reset the password.
once your in to your router you should be able to figure out the wireless.
assign an SSID, and choose an encryption method (WPA or TKIP are probably best.)
